This image : Namibia's feared easterly wind ruins many photographers' attempts to capture its amazing coastal dunes. This particular morning, I was very fortunate as the easterly wind was at the tipping point beyond which it would have been impossible to photograph, and I was able to capture the astonishing beauty of the dunes transformed by the wind. For a brief moment it all came together, when the wind blew the sand off the dune ridges as well as across the foreground sand ripples, all of it illuminated by the light of the morning sun.

The perfect arrangement of elements in Chile's Torres del Paine National Park: A spot lit, deep blue iceberg is dwarfed by surrounding towering mountains which have receded into the shade, except for the glorious, jagged summit, bathed in the warm light of the afternoon sun.
