The awe inspiring Grundtvigskirken peak dwarfs a giant ice berg at its base. During our voyage through the unforgettable O-fjord in East Greenland's Scoresby Sund, we were bombarded with one breathtaking view after the other. It was one of the most memorable days in my life, an absolute privilege to have been able to witness it.

The vast coastal dune fields of Namibia, Africa, are home to beautiful wildlife, such as this Springbok, sprinting up one of the dunes. They are specially adapted to this area, and can eat a plant rich in water, but bitter, which their own species in other parts of Namibia would not be able to tolerate.

Namibia's feared easterly wind ruins many photographers' attempts to capture its amazing coastal dunes. This particular morning, I was very fortunate as the easterly wind was at the tipping point beyond which it would have been impossible to photograph, and I was able to capture the astonishing beauty of the dunes transformed by the wind. For a brief moment it all came together, when the wind blew the sand off the dune ridges as well as across the foreground sand ripples, all of it illuminated by the light of the morning sun.
Blowing sand stung my feet, pelted my equipment, filled my eyes. But time stood still: I moved in a world of astonishing beauty and breathtaking majesty, gone all too soon.
