Another fabulous carpet of Wild Garlic taken late in the day with the evening light catching the trees at the rear of this woodland scene.

Certainly the flowers here were at their peak and the aroma was really heady on this still evening.

A visit to one of my favourite footpaths to check on the display of Wild Garlic and I wasn't disappointed.

You can revel in the aroma as you approach this idyllic location and I have yet to see another person here on my frequent visits. Looking at previous shots from here, the flowers are about 2 weeks ahead of previous years. Probably due to the damp mild conditions this Spring.

Walking the shoreline waiting for sunset and I was struck by the textures in the rocks and crustacean shells littering the surface. The sky was also interesting with wispy cloud trails above the distant Plover Scar Lighthouse.

So I framed up a couple of shots. The area here is so open and vast it is quite difficult to make decent shoreline shots when the tide is this far in.

The rocks out by the lighthouse at low tide are much more substantial and interesting.

Anyway, I thought it was worth a post! You may also spot the man fishing in the sea, up to his waist in water on the left side of the frame.

A quick spur of the moment visit to Cockersands and it didn't disappoint.

The light and colour in the clouds around sunset created a photogenic scene. There was a fisherman out on the shore, a dog walker catching the sunset on his phone and Plover Scar lighthouse looking diminutive in the expanse of the incoming tide.

I never tire of visiting this spot with a view out over the Irish Sea.

This dead tree emerging from the limestone pavement of Gait Barrows looked a very interesting form!

The sinuous, gnarly, textured shape caught my eye and had me taking a shot. There are lots of dead old trees around this landscape, which is similar to the situation across in the Yorkshire Dales. Ash die back being one factor, but it is sad to see a lot of the more stately trees suffering too!
