Well it looks as if most people survived the coastal surge, though there is severe flooding along the east coast and around the Isle of Wight. After the floods of 1953 where just over 300 people died and 40,000 were left homeless, strong sea defences were built and it looks like they worked. Believe it or not we live in an at risk area and are on the Environment Agency's register. I said to Phill last night what would we do if we got the text to say evacuate. Where would we go with four cats? And it made me realise I only have 3 cat carriers - must get a fourth!

Well we have what is called a hung parliament after our general election. This means that no majority party rules. But what this actually means in practice we are still waiting to see. At the moment the Conservatives who have most of the votes are in talks with the Liberal Democrats to see if they can work something out. We sit and we wait!

I'm away next week on a health and safety course, which you can all only imagine how thrilled I am to be attending.

The squirrels which live in the park in Bournemouth are all rather round: it's surprising they can climb the trees!! They are very tame (don't know whether that's a good or bad thing) and will come right up to feed from your hand if you bring them food.
