Initially what attracted me to this image was the bird incoming to the feeder. But then when I opened it up on my large computer screen, I saw the female finch feeding the male and I just went "Ahhh!"
It looks like such a tender moment and it pulled a bit at my heartstrings.
Even though the female finch closest to the camera is a bit out of focus, in this case I don't care. To me, this photo is more about a feeling than perfection.

She is Dolly. In photos like this, I don't mind a bit of overblown highlights. Adds to the glow :-)

When you're someplace beautiful and peaceful, a place that calms you and rejuvenates you at the same time, you tend to want to stay there, as long as possible.
That must have been how this lone boater on Diamond Lake was feeling at the time I took this photo.
I know I didn't want to leave.
It amazes me how the colors on Mt. Thielsen change depending on the lighting. Of course, that's Thielson on the left

I've been going through all my photos since I got home, looking for this shot because after I took it I zoomed in on my camera and saw that you could actually see the point of origin where the eggs are being expelled from the salmon as the bear squeezed it in its mouth to hold on to it.
So I just now found it.
Some people might be grossed out but I thought it was interesting to see.

I seem to have misplaced my bird book so I can't look this one up but I think it's a Red Wing Blackbird. Any of my bird friends out there know for sure? Pictures on google tell me it is that
Nothing really special about this shot other than this is the first year this kind of bird has ever come to my feeders. I have had a few here on and off for the last 4 days. Have not been able to get a shot until this morning.
Anyway, it always blows me away when I see a bird here that I don't normally see here. I've seen flocks of these over in the Klamath Basin area. But never here at my feeders.
Anyway, someone correct me if I'm wrong about what this is.
