Zig zag moods - A long exposure at sunset of 'The blocks', the iconic zig zag breakwater on the outer sea wall at St Monans.
The rough conditions with the waves crashing over the breakwater take on a somewhat luminous moody appearance from the long exposure, whilst the approaching sunset allows some colour to develop in the sky.
Bass Rock is just visible on the distant horizon catching the last rays of sunlight though a gap in the clouds.

Far west - Sunset at Neist Point, looking out across the Minch.
The narrow, rocky finger that is home to Neist Point lighthouse, is the furthest west you can travel in mainland UK without having to board a ferry. A location that’s hard to beat as one of the best places in the UK to witness sunset, especially so when decent conditions prevail as I was lucky enough to experience.

Irresistible - A perfectly calm and serene spring day dawns at Blea Tarn.
A favourite haunt of mine, Blea Tarn is a place I find myself returning to time and time again, having discovered conditions like this irresistible to while away a few quiet hours.
It’s a place where everything comes together, especially so at first light, when the early sunlight hits the Langdale Pikes framed by the natural amphitheatre around the tarn, perfectly reflected in the mirror like surface of the still water. A place to rejuvenate the mind.

Awesome defences - Golden hour at the truly stunning and inspirational setting of Kilchurn Castle on Loch Awe, lit by the dawn light burning off the day's early morning mist streaming down the loch.
A quintessentially Scottish location that I'm drawn to time after time, having been privileged and lucky enough to witness some remarkable and special dawns on a number of occasions. A genuinely captivating and enchanting experience especially so when conditions are as spectacular as this.

Talisker on the rocks - The black boulders on the shoreline of Talisker Bay at sunset. A dramatic end to the day as the sun dips across the Minch towards the Outer Hebrides.
