Froth and fury - Being perched atop the outer sea wall at St Monans to capture the best view of the iconic zig zag breakwater below, has its risks even at the best of times. On this recent afternoon however, conditions were really rough to say the least, with large waves crashing over the breakwater and a moody sky to boot. Somewhat different to the ultra long exposure calm conditions I'd been so accustomed to on most of my previous visits to 'The Blocks'.
It was great to meet up with David Queenan, Grant Bulloch and John Pow on top of the wall, who not only provided great company and moral support for the crazy conditions, but also welcome shelter from the crashing waves too - thanks guys!

Zeascape - Dusk descends upon 'The Blocks', the iconic and quirky breakwater on the outer sea wall at St Monans zig zagging its way out into the Firth of Forth immersed in the colours of dusk.
A long exposure captured on a very high spring tide when The Blocks are at their photogenic best.

These are my mountains - and I have come home - Ralston
The iconic view down Glencoe from the Ralston cairn with the Three Sisters catching some welcome rare autumn light in between frequent squally showers.
Laid in memory of Ralston Claud Muir, the cairn is tucked out of sight and nestles atop an unremarkable and wind-swept crag, overlooking the A82 and the dramatic view down the glen.
