Dad appears to have captured a Japanese Type 95 light tank near Waikiki Beach. This is actually the US Army Museum of Hawaii, which had only recently opened when we were staying at the adjacent Hale Koa hotel in 1977.

Dad took this picture of my mom dressed up for an elegant evening in Honolulu in 1978.
I took this picture of my Dad at what is now the US Army Museum of Hawaii in 1978. He is standing beside a US M24 "Chaffee" light tank, built and used during World War II.
The structure behind him, labeled "BATTERY RANDOLPH," is a former coastal defense artillery battery. The fortified concrete structure, located at the west end of Waikiki Beach, houses the US Army Museum of Hawaii. This tank is still there, too.
I took this picture using the second 35mm camera I ever had, a Leica IIIf with a 50mm f2 Summitar lens.

This is a scan of a Kodachrome slide I took with my first 35mm camera, a Kalimar SR200. It was a re-badged Zenit-E SLR made in the USSR that lacked features such as through-the-lens (TTL) light metering. But it worked, and I learned a lot with it.
