Very similar to the Monarch and Queens, but are distinguish for the black band across the hind-wings. They fly from Spring to Summer through watercourses, meadows and wetlands. Two or more generations a during the year. The wings are in great condition, considering that this photo was taken at the end of Summer.

The good thing about this one, it that we might be able to see them trough late fall!

I do must of all nature photography, and from time to time city life. I enjoy trying new techniques, and transforming some of my photos into something different and ( I think) artistic.

I was chasing this butterfly, Gorgone Checkerspot, all over the place, and then when finally decided to stop, I was fascinated by this yellow wild flower, Sneezeweed it landed on!
