Viceroys are very much alike to the Monarch butterflies and also the Queens, but they are distinguished by the black band across their hindwings.
These three species don't make a great banquet for predators. They fly from Spring to Summer in meadows and wetlands.

Very similar to the Monarch and Queens, but are distinguish for the black band across the hind-wings. They fly from Spring to Summer through watercourses, meadows and wetlands. Two or more generations a during the year. The wings are in great condition, considering that this photo was taken at the end of Summer.

This a macro work of a Swallowtail butterfly. What I end up liking the most abut this photo, is the sun bathing the butterfly's wings, and the beautiful frame that these leaves made...
