A beautiful morning showing the habitat and view along a forest service road I got to spend a few hours on.

Olive-sided Flycatcher. Sisters, Oregon. I was hoping to catch this species in the upper peninsula of Michigan in May but never heard one calling in the areas I worked. Along this road near Sisters, Oregon I heard several calling and got a nice close encounter with this individual. For those wondering "Quick. Three Beers" is an easy way to remember the call of this large flycatcher. I celebrated later with one beer!

The Oregon trip's primary purpose was not bird photography/birding but I did get out a few hours a few times over the 11 day trip. This was the only Townsend's I came across but he was my first ever on breeding grounds. My lifer was during Spring migration in SEAZ some years back. This guy was found not far from the 0live-s1ded F1ycatcher in the previous post. I also found a MacGi11ivray's warbler nearby but that bird was not photographed.

This was my primary warbler target in Oregon and I came across this species in several different locations including along the coast, at elevation at Crater Lake, and here in the forest about an hour west of Sister's Oregon.

Audubon's Yellow-rumped Warbler. Crater Lake. This is the 5th warbler species I photographed out in Oregon. I also saw MacGillivray's (no images), and heard Nashville and Yellow warblers singing.

Other birds of note I saw and/or photographed at Crater Lake were Cass1n's F1nch, Western Tanag3r, Ste11ar's Jay, Canada Jay, Herm1t Warbler, Red-breasted Sapsuck3r, and Clark's Nutcrack3r.
