Thought you might like to see how BFG is doing. As you can see he is making himself at home quite nicely thank you very much - lol. We are calling him Ray as he does like like a ray of sunshine to me. Kaiser is still very unhappy. In fact when I stroke Ray Kaiser hisses at me. I am hoping once Ray is neutured things may calm down. Milu is gradually accepting this huge ginger cat and Mojo, well nothing and nobody makes her happy:-) Ray himself is totally relaxed as long as I am around in the garden. If I go inside he disappears to wherever it is he goes. He still doesn't come into the house and if truth be known until he is neutured I prefer it that way. I have a couple of days off mid September for my niece's wedding, so I am going to book him in then so I can be around.

This is BFG (Big Fat Ginger) staring in through the catflap (hence the poor quality). I am 99% sure he is a stray but just in case I am going to post a photograph of him locally. If I get no feedback I am going to contact a local cat charity to see if they can help. He is constantly hanging around mine and my neighbour's house. He hasn't been neutured so he can be quite aggressive with other cats, except for Mojo who, strangely enough, is the only one who chases him off. He is out in all weathers and is quite thin at the back (I have to admit I have recently started feeding him - fatal I know). I would be prepared to pay for him to be neutured as he is a handsome looking boy who really needs to be looked after.

Today my friend Mona has had to say goodbye to Vicky whom I had the pleasure of meeting when I visited her in Paris back in June

I wondered if BFG would still be around when we came back from holiday. I went to the bottom of the garden and found him sleeping in the tree house (good shelter from the rain we've been having). I spoke to him and down he came, running in front of me! He lets me stroke him. Kaiser and Mojo are still not happy, but time will tell. Off to the wedding now so catch up with you later

On Tuesday I had three missed calls on my mobile. Obviously someone was trying to get hold of me! It was a young woman who had seen our poster advertising 'Ray' in a local pet food store. They had been looking for him for a couple of months. He had been booked in to be neutured and 'disappeared' three days before the event. His real name is John - Ginger John - lol. I think it is really funny that both of us named him a solid man's name which lets you know what kind of guy Ray/John is. His history is that he was abandoned when his owner couldn't keep him and 'dumped' in our local college's car park. This woman and her partner took him in. They have one other cat who is female and already neutured. Phill was home early, so we arranged that they come round and collect him (they live a couple of small roads away). Our cats were absolutely delighted when he went. Kaiser became totally relaxed again and I realised just how tense he had been with Ray around. So result all round as we thought.

But just as I was going to post this, Phill shouted "Ray's back"!! And at the exact same moment my neighbour text me to say Ray is sitting on my shed - lol I have just texted the owners and the reply came back that he had not settled back with them - he was very edgy the whole time (they have a small child as well). They are more than willing to try again but said that like us they just want him to have a good home and that if we want to keep him they will understand. Oh what a dilemma! Kaiser gets so so upset when Ray is around, but I think Ray could be a loving boy once he is neutured - it's just getting him done! I am going to contact the vet to ask their advice.

We are off to my sister's this evening to attend my youngest niece's wedding tomorrow (we are actually taking the photos!). So all this will have to wait until our return

Everything went well with Ray's procedure. Brought him 'home' this afternoon. When I let him out of the carrier he shot out of the back door. But it was encouraging to see that he didn't disappear down the garden. He hung around for some food before he left. It will be a while before his hormones settle down so I am hoping he will not wander as much once this happens. As you can see from the photo, Ray sleeps in the tree house now that the temperatures are beginning to drop at night. The treehouse has a waterproof covering inside so he can shelter from the elements. I am hoping he will see sense and start coming in more and not just for his food, but I am not going to force him - slowly, slowly catchy monkey or in this case Ray:-)
