One of the many things that is wonderful in Tuscany at this time of year is the abundance of chestnuts. We stayed in the apartment in the evenings and had them roasted on an open fire. The simple things in life are sometimes the best:-)

Came back yesterday from Italy. Had a wonderful time. This little kitty was one of many we saw whilst out and about sightseeing. She was sitting behind a gate and was very curious of my camera.

This is the fascinating Civita di Bagnoregio which was founded by the Etruscans over twenty-five hundred years ago. Civita is known in Italian as "The Dying Town". Following a landslide caused by an earthquake in 1794, the ancient village, which became difficult to reach, was gradually abandoned, and most of its inhabitants moved. It has been inhabited since but never by many people.

The bridge you see here was built in 1965 and I have to say it isn't the most attractive of constructions. The orginal bridge eroded and then was bombed in WW2. It is quite a steep walk but is well worth it when you get to see this beautiful and very special town. There are no cars. When we were walking up we were passed by a quadbike pulling a trailer with groceries in it. You wouldn't want to forget something when you did your weekly shop!

This one was taken at Civita as well. I was aiming to take a shot of the scenery below when one of the several cats who were sunning themselves on the floor jumped up onto the roof.

There were many feral cats in this town and all of them were friendly and very well looked after. We witnessed them being fed twice by local members of the community.

I am using this title to amuse Phill because whenever we are out taking photos one or the other of us quite often gets in the way of the other one and we can quite often be heard shouting "your in my shot" which translate to "GET OUT OF THE WAY!" - lol

This is Poldo who I am told spends his time terrorising my friend Claudia's household. Now I'm not saying she's lying but when I met him he was the sweetest little boy you could meet (*wink*)

So he chewed my feet a little, so he attacked Phill's hands.........it's only to be expected when your just 3 months old and you started off life being left out with the rubbish
