27th January 2018 at the Royal Concert Hall (Strathclyde Suite), Glasgow.

Celtic Connections Festival, www.celticconnections.com/

Country: United States & Canada (United States resident). Style: Traditional American Folk - Old Time.

Lineup: Bruce Molsky (v/fiddle), Allison de Groot (banjo), Stash [Stanislaw] Wyslouch (g/v).

This was the eleventh time I have seen Bruce Molsky live (not counting four times with Transatlantic Sessions and three at the Celtic Connections Festival Club). Five times solo and five with other collaborations - Mozaik (Andy Irvine, Dónal Lunny and others) twice, Fiddlers 4 (Darol Anger, Michael Doucet and Rushad Eggleson), a duo with Tony McManus, and a trio with Aly Bain and Ale Möller. For photos of the most recent of these occasions see: www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/brucemolsky,-molsk.... However, this new group with two much younger musicians is now my favourite context for him. Molsky (frm the Bronx, NY and now living in Beacon, NY) is joined by Allison de Groot (from Winnipeg, MB) and Stash Wyslouch (from Lexington, MA), both now living in the Boston area. I took photos of Wyslouch in 2012 with Blue Moose & the Unbuttoned Zippers (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/sets/72157629298642229/).
