I got the vertical blinds after Tikki ruined the horizontal watching outside. Finally, not long before Caturday in GMT is over, there was a “different” noise outside that got both cats onto the back of the sofa: Agate spying, and Jet bristling her tail. I had kept an eye on them all week with camera and phone nearby for spying of some kind with no luck - also tried to call them from outside to catch them looking through the blinds back at me but no luck either. So bad photo but wonderful kitty pair for Happy Caturday theme 31 May 2025 “Little Spies.”

Little blip waaaay up atop that tall dead snag. Could easily be overlooked, were he not singing so boldly. Photo right out of camera - cropped but so so blue without help. This fellow was laying claim to trees right around the refuge entry from 99W.

I thought this heron might have been preparing to preen but now I suspect it was just cooling off by panting and spreading its wings. First hot (over 75 degrees F) and sunny afternoon in quite a while. Speaking of sunny, this is right out of the camera and would probably benefit from some editing at some point.
