And so I have bid farewell to my Red-shouldered Rooster who has failed to wake me up at first light and appears to have moved on! This is a photo of the juvenile perched in my neighbor's tree!! He was quite proficient in his flight and so I would like to think that he will make it in the world on his own!! Maybe a tough beginning has made him a bit more resilient!! I only wish that I had spent more time with them while they were around but they were incredibly entertaining in spite of the noise!! Will just say that they are the noisiest bird I have ever encountered!! I may post additional shots of them as time passes, but all three are gone! BTW…it is a Red-shouldered Hawk - juvenile!

Or maybe that should be what are you looking at??? Going to post a shot of my alarm clock from last year and am sort of prepping myself for the new crop that will likely happen this year. I thought they were out of the nest a bit earlier last year, but I still have a few more weeks before the youngsters appear. I think he was trying to tell me that it was his back yard and that I could use it as long as he approved. Juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk.

NOT the best neighbor and is beginning to wear out his welcome! These Red-shouldered Hawks have been a ton of fun to observe, but unfortunately they have worn out their welcome!! The smallest one that I believe is in trouble screams from sunup to sundown and there is no place in my house to escape his calls!!! I had thought that the other two siblings had moved on but they still remain nearby and poor mom is literally mugged every time she attempts to bring food to this little one!! Not sure how long he can continue on but he is still hanging in there!! The unfortunate thing is that his favorite perch is right outside of our bedroom!!
Just as a footnote! Georgia once again had some issue this past week, but has once again rallied strongly and is back to 100%!! That is all I will say for now and we are just trying to get on with things! Wishing everyone a great weekend!! Will try to looks at you photos and leave comments but they will like be brief and to the point! Take care!

Not the bayou but it is the Houston suburbs that was left a bit different looking after an overnight dusting of the white stuff. The last snowfall was in 2004 so it is something that does not happen here very often.
