The clouds had really come in thick by the time I was able to take this shot of this ladderback in late afternoon. If I remember correctly, a cold front was moving in from the north.

I encountered this female downy woodpecker while on one of my birding adventures in my area. She was very active pecking at the bark looking for insects. I could not get the right angle on her so she is sort of backlit but I do like the eye contact.

Encontré este carpintero velloso menor hembra mientras que estaba de excursión buscando aves en mi área. Ella estaba muy activa picoteando la corteza del árbol buscando insectos. No pude lograr el ángulo que quería y, por lo tanto, salió con mucha contraluz, pero me gusta el foco en el ojo.
