There it was—that jagged yawn in the stone, that crooked keyhole the world had carved, not by design but by long, patient argument with time. The rock was red like dried blood or old truth, and the air smelled of earth and memory. Inside, the cave pressed close like a mother's last embrace or the mind’s last excuse. But through the jagged mouth, the light poured in—obscene in its clarity, too sharp to look at full on. And just beyond the aperture, rising with animal inevitability, was the stone-face of truth itself, part-beast, part-god, staring back with an expressionless challenge.

This wasn't a breakthrough; it was a crack. A timid glance. Like when a man who's lied all his life tells one honest sentence and can't bear the sound of it echoing in the silence. This was that silence. The kind that doesn't answer back.

And maybe—just maybe—the shadows on the wall behind you still danced, still told their dumb puppet tales. Maybe the others back there laughed and nodded and pointed. But out here, this world of raw shape and light and impossible distance didn’t care for stories. It waited, eternal and indifferent, like a stage abandoned after the curtain fell.

You were never meant to look.
Not really.
Just enough to ache.
Just enough to doubt.

Would you step out? Would you go back?

Or would you sit right at the threshold, afraid to know which was the truer prison?
