We've arranged to have Flickr keep his account via "In Memorium" in the not too distant future, at no charge to his family. . . . People should be able to Comment and or Fave a photo Steve posted. Since New Activity now requires a password, your questions won't be seen by me through moderation. Keep enjoying Steve's wonderful site when Memorium status is invoked by (slow, slow) Flickr.
. . . . . . . HOWEVER --
When that happens ... I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO POST OR ANSWER QUESTIONS VIA "New Activity." So if you have questions or other correspondence it must go to my Flickr Acct. which is here:

I got this photo of Steve while on a hike at First Sister Lake in the summer of 2015.
We held a Memorial for Steve on 10 December in Ann Arbor at Steve's church. We who spoke mentioned this memorial Flickr post and all the respect and love that poured out from Flickr members on six continents, due to Steve's work and to his personal touch in communicating with them about THEIR photographs. We were a big group of Steve's friends and loved ones, and everything went without a hitch. There were tears and smiles both. We are planning a second ceremony in the spring when the remains will be lain to rest (when the weather is more appropriate for a large gathering of folks out of doors). Thanks again to Martin for this post, for all his help on Facebook and Flickr, and to all of you thousands who viewed below and to the memories of Steve's presence here.
...Grant from California (and now Michigan)
+++++++
P.S. Steve and his friendship and skill are the reason I ever moved to Michigan!

[From @granttt73...]

On the first Sunday after Steve's Memorial, I found this picture that Steve took in 2018 of Marsha posing in one of her typical period outfits. Steve often brought Marsha to old car events, and usually she dressed for the era.

It was my pleasure to pick up Steve's one true love and bring her to the loving ceremony at Steve's church, Grace Ann Arbor. Church member who were friends of his as well, helped very much during his final months.

Barely more than a week before, I had also picked her up and brought her to see Steve at his home on the last full day of his life. Steve was very tired that day, but awake and lucid. Their last good-byes were behind closed doors with brother Doug Brown, Doug's wife Betty and Steve's sister Mary, and myself, all waiting in the front room with a couple of his closest friends and neighbors, who'd helped him so much during his illness. He knew where he was going and we all realized, as did Steve, that it would be soon.

Marsha emerged after awhile, quite composed. The faith of this pair of sweethearts and his loving family certainly helped during the final days.

I drove here home to her Assisted Living residence, which is * one of those where I sometimes entertain on piano. In 2013 through 2015, I was also invited to play for her mother, "Millie," at a similar residence where Millie spent those last years of her life.

Six hours later, at 15 minutes past midnight, December the 2nd, Steve Brown left us peacefully. His was a life well lived. How we loved him.

R.I.P., Steve, (1946-2021).

[From, @granttt73 . . .]

I've re-posted this picture Steve made of our friend, (Steven W.) dressed in appropriate period clothing, as usual, back in 2013 in Ypsilanti. In 2018, when several of us descended on South Bend where Mr. W.'s two 1922 Liberty Six touring cars were in attendance at that annual Concours d'Elegance. Can't seem to find one of my shots of it that day but I've placed one of Steve's photos of the "rust-brown" second Liberty, in Comments. Coincidentally, I happened to sit next to Steven W. during the 10 December memorial.
