This cool bird apparently crashed into some part of the Formerly Crappy Casita. Don't worry, he wasn't dead! He just had to wake up and take about 10 minutes to get his head together. Then he pooped on the patio and flew off.

It exists! Like stories of unicorns, I'd heard that there would be a new 50,000 colones bill, but I never quite believed the rumors. But a student paid me with a crisp, new bill (I'd brought him some money from my trips, since he has a bill collection). It's a pretty cool design, but since it's worth $100, I imagine it'll be next to impossible to find people or stores willing to accept them for everyday transactions
