After I photographed this flower, I discovered that it looked much better and more interesting in B&W. The elegant petal structure combined with the light in the rear emphasizes it’s graceful form and unique details. The offbeat word “matutinal” means “occurring in the morning”, so I thought it was fitting to use this as the title since I captured this enigmatic image quite early in the morning.
