After waiting for this trip for more than half a year, we lost track of time and I almost missed the sunset on the only night I was spending here. Luckily traffic was light and the elements for this photo presented themselves and I was able to get this shot. There wasn't much time to figure out the best spot but in the end I'm pretty happy with this one. Maybe some day I will revisit, but for the moment this will do.

This picture will look best viewed on a big screen!

Water from a melting glacier runs off into this very blue lake in Lyngen.

It worries me that the world's glaciers are melting. Especially recent news about the melting of Greenland ice sheet, which has reached a point that we can't go back from.

The impact of climate change to people living elsewhere right now might be small or even none, but to the people living in Greenland it's huge. The impact around the poles is larger than elsewhere.

Climate change already changes Greenlanders' lives in a very fundamental way. It causes the sea to freeze over later in the year. Some 15 years ago the sea would freeze in October and the ice would last until June or July. Now the ice forms around January or even later and it melts already in May. This change is huge and should be really alarming to everyone.

But worse for all, the Greenland ice sheet melting means that the sea level would rise about 6 meters.

Massive corporations only interested in their profits are shifting environmental responsibility to individual people, which is ridiculous. They do this to shift focus from the fact that they are responsible for the pollution. These companies are trying to appear benevolent about the environment while causing majority of the greenhouse gas emissions around the world, directly responsible for climate change and the resulting melting of glaciers.

Some governments regulating pollution are not taking the necessary action because, for example the US government is mostly made up of 70+ year old billionaires who have no interest or don't even believe climate change is real, regulating pollution would mean decreased profits.

The world is way too focused on making money at the expense of the planet we live on. In fact, the planet will be just fine even if all the ice melts. It will be us humans who are in trouble, and that's why everyone should care about climate change.

A medieval stronghold from the 13th century, located in Hämeenlinna, Finland.

The colors of this photo have not been edited in post.

I scouted this location two days before I took this photo. I was walking around the castle with my camera but didn't have my tripod with me.

As the sun went down, I saw how nice the castle looked with the lights on and the blue moment that occurs after the sun starts going further below the horizon. I wanted to take photos of it so badly but couldn't get a sharp picture without a tripod.

I went there 2 days later, prepared with a tripod. Waited around an hour until the light was perfect, took about 90 shots in that time until I got this one. It was a chilly spring weather, about -6C with wind.

I was ready to head back home but as I approached my car I found that the doors wouldn't unlock because the battery in my key was dead. And the keyhole on the door is jammed, so I couldn't get in that way either.

I was lucky that there was a small restaurant nearby. The owner gave me a ride to a nearby gas station to buy some lock oil, but that didn't help at all. Afterwards he gave me a lift home. A few days later I broke into my own car and will surely forever remember the experience taking this photo.

What a hassle.
