Sunset Forest.... (EXPLORED)
This is one of those shots buried deep in the archives, on one of my hard drives that never saw the light of day,
In mid September of 2012 we hiked into the Hockley Valley Provincial Nature Reserve with some friends and their kids. , It was early afternoon when we started our trek into the woods and after several hours wandering about, we realized we were completely lost.
We thought we had found the trailhead several times but became aware we were going deeper and deeper into the park.and at one point we ended up in a farmers field surrounded by cows. by the time we finally found the trail that leads out of the park it was minutes before sunset.
We all had a good laugh once we arrived back at the spot where we had parked our cars. by that time the sun had gone down completely and it was really quite dark out.
"note to self". next time bring snacks, flashlights. and maybe bring some bread crumbs.

Birch Tree Trail ...(EXPLORED)
This year has been a strange one for me; with Covid19, The subsequent lockdown, followed by the chaos that ensued. and recently the last few weeks have been so terribly hot outside, that I truly haven't been out as much as I would have liked wandering about with my camera. Most of my photography has been close to home.
I find myself sad at times; as I love the hunt for new and interesting images and at timers I feel "caged up" when i cannot get out and spend time with nature, shooting images of Gods glorious creation. I truly love the creative process of the image editing and sharing the final result with my family and friends.
So lately i have been pulling images from my archives and tweaking them to post here on flickr and also on instagram and facebook
This image has been sitting in my "to be edited" queue for some time now, waiting for me to get around to editing and posting. this particular image was taken at heart Lake, along the far north trail we like to call "birch tree trail" there are an abundance of white paper birch trees that dot the path and always reminds me of a Bob Ross oil painting.

Winter Light.. (EXPLORED)
This is a photo taken December 2017, a severe winter storm blanketed the province with record snowfalls in February of that year.
Karen and I love winter and find that you get the most amazing photos after a big snowstorm. everything is pure white and looks remarkably clean and unspoiled.

Floating..
Karen and I went for a leisurely stroll through Jack Darling Memorial Park.
The beaches were crowded with people; sounds of children laughing and dogs barking filled the park. it seems no one is overly concerned about the Pandemic that has kept us all sequestered for the batter part of six months.
Just a few hundred feet off shore were a group of young boys floating on an inflatable raft, they were having such a good time laughing and chatting... i had to capture this moment.

A New Day Begins...
The forecast called for early morning thunder showers and inclement weather; Knowing they are the best days for sunrises... I made my way to Burton park and started taking shots of the sunrise.
the yellow and crimson blue hues of the sky only lasted a few minutes then were lost in the thicker cloud cover that suddenly enveloped the rising sun.
