Introduced in 1982, the RTS II upgraded the original RTS with quartz timing, an improved viewfinder and advanced electronics, among other improvements. The Carl Zeiss T* ƒ1.7 50mm prime on the end is pretty nifty too! One feature that is absolutely brilliant is the manual shutter option. If the battery dies in the middle of a shoot, flip a switch and you can still operate the shutter at 1/50 of a second!

Contax began in 1932 from the Zeiss Ikon firm and produced some of the most beautiful and precise cameras ever made. In 1973 Zeiss partnered with Yashica and the end result was the RTS line. By the way, the RTS bodies were designed by Porsche!

Produced form 1976-1997, the K1000 is a widely respected workhorse! Essentially a bell and whistle-less camera, (no auto-focus, no auto-exposure) it remained a low-priced high end camera for years. Production moved from Japan to Hong Kong in 1978 and eventually China in 1990 and metal parts slowly switched to plastic over the years. In order to emphasize the Pentax line, the Asahi brand and AOCO logo were removed from the pentaprism cover. This is an early Japanese build!

Beautiful macro/portrait lens with Contax "Adaptall" mount! Adaptall simply means that the mounting end of the lens was essentially bare and you could purchase adapters for whichever camera you wished to use it on. The 52BB is the second generation of this model.

Takumar was a subsidiary of Asahi (Pentax) and adorned most of their lens line until the 1970's. The name was chosen to honor Japanese-American portraitist Takuma Kajiwara whose brother Kumao founded Asahi Optical.
