Here is another from the snowy trip Jill and I took up to Williams, Arizona a few weeks ago. A few days ago, it was up to 94 degrees here. It is pretty hard to believe that just a few weeks ago we were out in a blizzard.

This is a really scenic road, just a couple miles south of Williams.

Nope... I haven't run out of photos from Havasu Falls yet. I'm still in Vegas, where it just got up to 100 degrees. As I was sitting here sweltering, wondering, 'was it really 24 degrees in Bryce Canyon last week, or did I imagine that?' I just didn't feel like looking at any of my photos of the desert. I didn't really feel like looking at my new Las Vegas photos either. I felt like looking at some photos of water, because that's where I want to be right now. So, I started digging through the Havasu shoot. This is a detail shot of a section of Navajo Falls. That's the smaller, fairly wide waterfall that you have to wade through a river to get to. I loved this section of the waterfall. There is water spraying out from all different directions.

I've been photoshopping a bunch of fairly boring photos for the past few days. Nothing I have really felt like posting. When all else fails, I can always open up my folder of Blue Canyon photos and find something worth working on. This place is just absolutely amazing!

I always find it amusing walking around the gift shops up near the Grand Canyon, (or, anywhere in Arizona, really) looking at all the different artwork of the canyon available. I'm always amazed by how many paintings you see that have big Saguaro Cactus around the rim of the canyon. I can see that in cheesy cheap paintings being sold at roadside stands, but, even the big giftshop right there inside the National Park often have paintings of the canyon with saguaros. Some of them even throw in a howling coyote perched at the rim of the canyon. Maybe put a rattlesnake in there somewhere, or, for maximum cheesiness, maybe add a couple of Indians dancing around a campfire in the foreground! It must be fun to be a painter. Just add in whatever your imagination desires…

So… I thought it would be fun to throw this together, just to see how it looks. I like it!

This is from a dusk shot I did of the canyon a couple months ago, with a bit of photoshopping.

For those of you who have never been to the canyon… There are NO big Saguaro Cactus within at least 200 miles of the canyon. I know I was disappointed the first time I went there… "I was in Arizona… Where are the big cactus???"

My friend Rick posted a photo of Blue Canyon this morning, and it got me thinking… That was the last really amazing place I have photographed. That was three months ago. In the past three months, I have been in New Mexico (very brown). Texas (very HOT). Louisiana (very humid), and Oklahoma (very boring). Now I'm in Colorado, but I have barely even had a chance to pick up the camera.

So… This is Blue Canyon, back in June. It is one of the most amazing places on Earth.
