Award-winning home of the architectural practice, Osborn Architects in Glendale, CA. The open floor design encourages collaboration between principals, project managers and staff in an 'open mezzaninine with breakout meeting areas between workstations that allow for spontaneous conference.'

The building extends over the parking area in a dramatic complex of truss supports and sails like some mysterious marooned vessel beckoning our exploration. The complex received immediate recognition upon completion; the 'Outstanding Architectural Improvement Award' by the City of Glendale (1999), 'Distinguished Building Award' by the L.A Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 1998 and the 'Merit Award' by the Pasadena and Foothill Chapter of the AIA.

The Osborn Architects Office is located at 320 East Harvard Street in the City of Glendale, CA. The firm is directed by Timothy A. Ballard AIA, Principal, and Michael T. Pinto, Design Principal.

Thanks to fellow realtor Dorothy Korostoff, I had the opportunity to visit this stunning reinterpretation of a custom built Mid-Century Modern house reimagined by Designer Jamie Bush and Osborn Architects. The house was the recipient of the 2012 AIA Pasadena-Foothill Chpater Architectural Award of Merit, and has been featured in several international design magazines and books. Set on a quiet cul-de-sac on a 1/2 acre of land with numerous mature pine and oak trees, the house features five bedrooms, many leading to private patios and two of which are en suite Masters; five bathrooms, a sauna, steam room and pool with Jacuzzi. Floor-to-ceiling windows that dominate the main rooms along with black slate floors, hand-selected redwood walls and steel beams.

The stainless Bulthaup kitchen boasts two Subzero refrigerators, a high-end dishwasher, oven, stove and warming drawers. Other features: Creston lighting and AV system, a central vacuum system, 4-zone central air and heat, central sound system, projector and screen in the family room, workout and utility room, three fireplaces, temperature controlled wine cellar and separate storage shed.

Outdoor features include an entertaining kitchen with BBQ, warming drawer and stovetops, UV pool with waterfall, professionally designed gardens with automatic irrigation four lovely fountains, solar panels and a carport with large garage and storage area.
