Architect Constantiine Hillman designed the Craftsman style house for himself and a family of 5 in 1911. The 5-bedroom, 4-bath home is currently (March 2016) on the market listed for sale for $1,799,000 and described in the listing as "features a large great room with a 16 foot high ceiling, exposed rough sawn redwood beams and textured wood wall paneling. The room is anchored by a massive fireplace clad in colored decorative tile, and a 2nd floor gallery sleeping porch with chalet style windows that overlook the living room area. Like many of the neighboring homes designed by Hillman, the house has rustic features giving it a lodge like character popular at the time. Noted photographer Francis Benjamin Johnston photographed the house and gardens in 1917 and included it in his lectures as an outstanding example of blending architectural and landscape design. The current owners, with the approval of the Pasadena Historical Society, reconstructed the front porch to its original size. Located adjacent to the Rose Bowl and Aquatics Center, views of the San Gabriel Mountains".

The Hillman House will be featured in the Pasadena Heritage Home Tour on March 13, 2016. The house is located at 320 Linda Vista Avenue in Pasadena, California. Please do not use this image in any media without my permission. © All rights reserved.
