Architect Irving Gill designed the Modernist style El Prado Bridge in in 1913. It was designed one year after Gill secured the job as Chief Architect for the city of Torrance, California, then under development by the Jared Sidney Torrance’s Dominguez Land Co. The reinforced concrete, six-arch bridge served passenger service for the Pacific Electric Railway, which ended in 1940. It was restored in 2013 for its centennial.
