Architect James DeLong designed the house for real estate broker and open space advocate Bob Schofield in 1953. The small wood-framed house is only 779 sq. ft. but feels much larger, with wide redwood sideing topped bya low-hipped roof with eaves extending almost 4 1/2 feet from the house, combined with open living areas and interior extenstions of the oversize eaves.

Scholfied lived in the house until his death in 2002. The house was part of the MAK Center for Art & Architecture Home Tour given on October 3, 2016.

The Scholfield House is located at 4252 Sea View Lane in the Mt. Washington neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument (No. 613) in 1994. Please do not use this image in any media without my permission. © All rights reserved.
