In honor of my mother's 91st Birthday, the Locke Clan will gather at Nancy & Meredith's digs in Santa Monica to celebrate and reminisce with her. I'll be doing my best to download and have available as many photos as I can pull together at the last minute as we are planning on videotaping her while she talks about her life.
By the time I reached eighth grade, my parents had saved enough money to move to the affluent neighborhood of Eastmoreland. Instead of the long distance from our "country" home in Ardenwald, we could walk the few blocks to Abigail Duniway Elementary School. It also made it possible to be close to a few friends who lived near us; Terry Chappell and David Popp were my two best friends in those days. My brother David (with the beard) can be seen on the left; you can spot my behind him.
