Black and white highlights the dramatic cloud formations (including a contrail) over the beach at Weymouth in northern Tasmania. It reminds me very much of the way a painter would add brushstrokes to create a sky.

The remains of the historic old jetty at Weymouth. It was constructed in the 19th century when the most efficient way of transporting goods was by sea. This old stone jetty was constructed from stones carved from a nearby seaside quarry. We'll take a look at the incredible rock formations at Weymouth when I post next.

Weymouth is where the mouth of the Pipers River meets Bass Strait. The tide is out where I'm taking this shot. At high tide the sandbar would be well under water.

I will be travelling to Melbourne early tomorrow and staying for just over two weeks. I'll try to post something every 2-3 days, depending on internet access. In the meantime, keep well.
Cheers, John.

The little coastal town of Weymouth in northern Tasmania has a fine beach and natural bushland where the Pipers River meets the ocean.
This infrared shot is a good example of the kind of image produced by the Panasonic DMC-TZ40 compact camera converted for monochromatic infrared.
