Alison Krauss was born in Decatur and grew up in Champaign, IL. She is now based in Nashville, TN. Krauss released her first album with her band Union Station in 1987 aged 16. This year she was touring with a different project which included Ron Block and Barry Bales of Union Station, and Sidney and Suzanne Cox of the Cox Family (which Krauss first collaborated with in 1994).
