Husband and wife Travis and Ai Ward are from Boise, Idaho. They started performing together as Hillfolk Noir (with their friend Mike Waite) around 2005/2006. Their set covered a variety of musical styles, with original compositions and covers of "I'm a Viper", "Halelujah I'm a Bum", "Stealin", "Run Molly Run", "The Cuckoo" and "Chittlin’ Cookin’ Time In Cheatham County".
