Here in Christchurch for Operation Deep Freeze, the summer support programme for the USA/NZ Antarctica operation.
In 1969 this aircraft carried the Apollo 11 astronauts in their Airstream quarantine trailer from Hickam AFB (Hawaii) to Ellington AFB (Texas), on their return from the Moon.

A scan of a print. Will have to locate the negative and scan that at a later date. I have no idea as to the date it was taken apart from during the southern summer. Hopefully I can find out from the negative/film number as better date.

Two Boeing 737-200 (before hush kits were applied) as well as a Mount Cook Hawker Siddeley HS748 and at one of the few international gates a Boeing 747-200.
