This particular specimen is a rare leucistic Kite with much paler plumage than the other Kites. Taken on a visit to the Red Kite feeding station at Gigrin Farm , Powys. It was a pity it was so grey a drizzly but there were plenty of Red Kites and buzzards to see. Taken with a D700 and a 70--300 Nikon VR.

The 17th bird species frequenting our garden during the Covid19 lockdown is the effervescent little Blue Tit. This one looks a little dishevelled with its punkish head feathers!

Well we are certainly not out of the woods yet with the Covid 19 Pandemic, but this is the Wood Pigeon, which is species 9 in my Garden Bird species challenge.

It's strange really, in that wherever we have lived in this country, we have always had the soft cooing call of the Wood Pigeon in our gardens. Whilst it is known as a pest to the farmer its soothing call is welcomed by many!!

I took these three shots of the Australasian Gannets (Morus serrator), at the Cape Kidnappers plateau colony showing the chick in its white down and a fully grown chick in its grey and white plumage and finally an adult with its distinctive yellow head and white and black feathers.
