I've had this shot planned in my diary for a considerable amount of time. Along with a moonset over the folly. The moonset was supposed to be last week but the weather wasn't playing. Fortunately tonight the sky was fairly clear.

Shot from the fields behind the house with the distance to Mow Cop some 11.31 miles away.

Ideally I should have been a tad further North so the sun sat on top of the castle. Maybe next time with the moon...

I have a few images with the sun central and directly behind but the castle gets lots in a load of mush....

I planned the shot using The Photographers Ephemeris.

Some spectacular weather conditions up on the moors earlier. I only saw the right hand side from the road I was on. Swinging a left revealed the rainbow in all its glory. Just had to pull over and took an 8 shot vertical pano.

5 off 12

In full leaf now with the grass in the field knee high. Some rather tasty clouds gathering to the North which brought on some fabulous weather later....

May edition of the lone Sycamore tree up at Grindon.
