I thought there would be fog at a lake below, but the cloud base didn't drop. So I drove up the mountain into the fog and then above it. Too high. I drove back down to this meadow beside the road on the upper edge of the cloud layer with the sun poking through at times.

Remnants of Autumn
In early January a small amount of snow fell in the local mountains. I headed up before sunrise for a beautiful walk in the fresh snow and forest.

I waited here for about an hour, hoping the fog would thin just enough to allow a little more light and definition in the willows. It never came together completely the way I hoped, but Iike this one too.
