Yesterday was Earth Day. It was wonderful to see all the posts celebrating our magnificent planet. But as we all know, the protection, preservation, and restoration of our planet require on-going stewardship. And as with all changes, every effort small or big matters. What is one thing you pledge to change for Mother Earth?

Tonight's almost full moon ( Waxing Gibbous at 94 % ) as it rises up over the top of Stonewall Peak in San Diego's Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. A couple of people are watching the show from the top.

I need to try this again, but with a couple of people as models that I can get to stand up.

Evelyn and I don't get to spend much time together because I'm often away in the field and she has a very busy career. When we are together, we make every effort to build some memories...big or small. In today's rapid pace of life, we are all being tucked in every direction. Are you making sure you are building some precious memories?

Do you know what this beautiful creature is? This is the serval cat, a marvel of the African savanna. Its sleek and slender physique is built for swift movements and stealthy pursuits through the tall grasses of its habitat. But what's most fascinating are its ears! Yes, ears! They cann swivel independently to detect even the faintest sounds of prey rustling in the underbrush! See you in the wild...in Africa!
