Ploumanac’h est le lieu emblématique de la Côte de Granit Rose.
Le nom Ploumanac'h provient de la déformation du breton Poull Manac'h, signifiant « la mare du moine ». Ici, l'élément « plou » n'est donc pas issu de plebs, « paroisse », à l'inverse de beaucoup de communes bretonnes. La tradition veut que Saint Guirec ait débarqué sur la grève de Ploumanac'h au VII ème siècle, un oratoire plus tardif commémorant cette arrivée.
Les chaos granitiques d’une couleur rose si particulière, constituent un site géologique unique en France, s’étirant sur 8 km. Ce site spectaculaire est longé par le sentier des douaniers offrant un splendide panorama sur l’archipel des 7 îles, la plus grande réserve naturelle française d’oiseaux marins.
Ce paysage si singulier ne serait pas le même sans le phare du Men Ruz...et bien d'autres merveilles à découvrir...

Le phare de Men Ruz (pierre rouge en Breton) fût construit en 1946, il vint en remplacement d’un autre phare datant de 1860 et qui fût détruit par les Allemands en 1944.
Le phare le précédent était construit en granit gris, le phare de Men Ruz est lui construit avec du granit rose.
Le phare de Men Ruz indique la passe menant au port de Ploumanac’h, une zone assez dangereuse de par ses courants violents et sa houle souvent très forte.
D’une hauteur de 15 mètres pour une élévation de 26 mètres le phare de Men Ruz est équipé d’un feu à secteurs blanc et rouge à occultations toutes les 4 secondes.

Le Fort La Latte d’abord appelé château de la Roche Goyon a été édifié au XIVe siècle. Remarquable par sa situation sur un cap rocheux, face à la mer, il a servi de décor à plusieurs films.Le château de la Roche-Goyon fut construit au XVe siècle par le seigneur de Matignon, Étienne III Gouÿon. Sur le chemin menant au château se dresse un menhir qui représente le doigt de Gargantua. La légende dit que celui-ci l'aurait perdu alors qu'il enjambait la Manche afin de rejoindre les côtes d'Angleterre. On y trouve aussi la trace de son pied et de sa canne.

Trégastel est située entre Perros-Guirec et Pleumeur-Bodou sur la Côte de granite rose à 70 km de la préfecture Saint-Brieuc et 11 km de Lannion la sous-préfecture. Tout comme Ploumanach', Trégastel dispose de côtes de granit rose qui enchantent les yeux des touristes.
