We were traveling north to Deadhorse on the Dulton highway when we came upon this scene overlooking Galbraith Airport and the north side of the Brooks Range.

The core of the Milky Way, myriad stars, and the planet Jupiter reflect on the tranquil surface of the Gunnison River near Paonia, Colorado. A number of bright green dots in the riparian vegetation are made by fireflies (Photuris sp.) as they signal to potential mates. Toads rustled in the bushes behind me as I sat with my sons in the quiet dark, eyes and ears open, absorbing.

Lucky Bay, Cape Le Grand National Park, Western Australia. This is my favorite stop of our Australia trip last year, and probably my favorite stop of all my trips last year. Since our schedule has limited time, I had to make a choice between it and Great Barrier Reef. Voted as one of the best beach in the world, Lucky Bay didn't make me regret my choice. The pure and fine white sand, and clear tranquil turquoise-coloured water is just insane. What can beat a beautiful sunset and view from above from here?
