I went on another expedition Saturday with rusty jaw and moucri. This time, we went to an abandoned cement plant in American Canyon, in Napa county.

The company started operations here in 1903 and quit in the 1930's. I've heard that cement produced here was used in the reconstruction of San Francisco, after the 1906 earthquake.

Lately I've been going out with small groups of people to take photos, and really like it. If you have an idea, especially of abandoned sites, and it's close to or in SF, and you want to go, let me know.
