A Canadian Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio canadensis) is seen here on one of my Lilac flowers. Both the butterfly and the flower are a beautiful part of early summer in southern Yukon.
Photo taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and M.Zuiko 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro. This lens is not a macro, but its close focusing distance and its relatively long focal length of 150mm (300mm full-frame equivalent) make it a superb choice for capturing subjects like the swallowtail butterfly seen here. The final image was processed from raw in Adobe Lightroom.

Grouse are fairly common in the Yukon. I think this is a Dusky Grouse but I'm not enough of a bird expert to be sure. This was one of three that I found standing together. Fortunately, I didn't have my dogs with me on this outing so was able to get close enough to get some decent shots. This photo is not cropped and presented as seen in camera except for some minor tonal adjustments, etc...

I found this big old barn on a side road near Miscouche, which is west of Summerside on Prince Edward Island. It was early evening but there was still enough light for some decent outdoor photography. Working structures like this or just so full of character, it is almost impossible to pass by without wondering, if walls could speak. . .
