Rhön sheep are a special breed of the Rhön. Their faces are black and their wool rather yellowish. What makes them different from similar sheep in the UK and elsewhere? The legs of a Rhön sheep are white while other black-faced sheep have either black or black and white legs. That is why the Cartoon Rhönhilde has law suits going on. Rhönhilde is pictured as a sheep with black legs, which angers the shepherds of the Rhön.

The wool of the Rhön sheep is no good for making wool.
