For me, Polperro is quite simply the prettiest fishing village in Cornwall. It sits in between two steep hillsides on the south-east coast of Cornwall with Looe about four miles to the east and Fowey to the west. It still has a small fish market on the side of the harbour, and this serves the day fishing boats that fish the local seas. The village has several art galleries that feature the work of local artists, and there are several delightful pubs and restaurants. Visitors' cars are not allowed in the village and there is a large car park at the top of the hill, about half a mile a way. For those who find the walk (especially back up) a little too tiring there is a taxi service operated by electric former milk floats.
