cactus patch!!!
Texas... This reddish egret in breeding colors was calculating a touch down in a densely populated patch of cactus, while several other suitors awaited. On this tiny stretch of land, there were nine other species of colonial nesters; traffic was heavy. All the other birds nested in small groups and were close to other species. However, the gang of reddish egrets were the only birds amongst the cactus. love to know why...
