Saturday, 8 February 2020: our temperature just before 11:00 am is -6C (windchill -14C). Sunrise is at 8:01 am, and sunset is at 5:39 pm. We had maybe three or four more inches of snow last night. So glad I went for a short drive yesterday, before this latest snow. Even happier that I don't have to go anywhere today.

Thought I would add these 7 photos taken yesterday. Then I can hopefully return to editing and posting more images from our great birding trip to South Texas in March 2019.

As you can tell, I had a wonderful photo opportunity yesterday afternoon, when I came across this handsome Bald Eagle. However .... my photos were taken from inside my car, stopped near an intersection with a main highway, hoping that no cars would be coming. I didn't turn off my car in case I needed to move quickly. The rising heat from my car ruined every single photo of the maybe 40 or so I took. I managed to kind of rescue two of the batch, though I did add a third shot that is even more blurry. That one is a vast improvement over all the remaining ones that have to be deleted. I can't believe how long this gorgeous Eagle stayed there. If only I could have got some decent images : )

On yesterday's drive, I found no owls at all, so my few photos are of sky, an old barn and an Eagle. I was just in time to call in at the Saskatoon Farm and have a meal there. This always makes a really good ending to a few hours out with my camera, especially if I haven't found much to photograph.
