This image almost never happened! I was heading back to the car as had to get back for work (and running late lol) and just decided to turn round and look back up the track, glad I did now as the wood was still with the hanging mist and the bare trunks that the path skirts around just looked amazing. Taken at The Hangings, Whiteleaf, Buckinghamshire.

This probably should be called Woodland Wonderings as there are many times when I'm wandering through the wood that I just stop and soak up the atmosphere. The birds singing, wind rustling the tops of the trees, noises in the undergrowth from something small and always unseen. Its a wonder I ever get round at all!

I had noticed this fallen tree a few times and had to wait for the conditions to be right to do the moss covered trunk justice. Also love how the thin branches from the surrounding beech seem to converge on the scene. Taken in Barnes's Grove at the end of last year.
