It all started with a female Mallard duck swimming around in a pond with her 10 little ducklings (inset at bottom right). A beautiful scene. Suddenly an Osprey saw a fish nearby and dove. All hell broke loose. Mother duck immediately body (or may be wing) slammed the Osprey who went belly up, lost its fish and in the process it's dignity (right to left). As the Osprey regained its composure the mother duck was immediately on its face. The Osprey managed to escape, minus the fish, and with its pride taking a beating. A day in the life in a stormwater pond - nothing special. May 31, 2024. Markham, Ontario
