5:45am sunrise, Turimetta Beach, Northern Beaches, Sydney.
Return I did the next day to discover the sky was covered with puffy clouds (I think they are called cumulus). So I concentrated on the waves instead. These clouds actually added grandness to the picture. Perfecto!
The fisherman in the picture was really keen. He started at 4:30am, half an hour before me. I owed him one for keeping still in all my photos.
A fair bit of dodge and burn in CS to produce this effect - to correct the over-exposure I normally get from a long exposure. This time the exposure was just 0.4 second but the motion-blur effect was better than expected.
Of the eleven Turimetta Beach photos posted, this was easily my favourite.

5:18am, 27 minutes before an unspectacular sunrise. The sea horizon almost blended with the bottom of the sky. It was sort of high tide and the waves could reach most of the boulders. I'd rather had the rocks exposed in the photo. This shot required an exposure of 25 seconds, i.e. long enough for two waves to come and go. Hence the mist effect. Unfortunately not much of a twirl was visible in the mist.

5:52am, 7 minutes into sunrise. Fisherman's backside. He was roughly in the same spot in all five photos. Rising sun was now to the left of the picture.
