Thanon Rot Fai, literary translated it means Fire Cart Road and dated back to the days wherein steam engines dominated the scene. The street name sign in front of the station building built in 1915. April 1st 1916 the first train arrived on the spot and since the road along the yard named Railway Street.

The main building with special shaped entrance, a lovely well-preserved feature designed and built in 1915, the first (Royal) train entered the premises on April 1st 1916 and nobody felt fooled. The building represents a mix between Northern Thai style and European influences.
